First post: What’s all this about, then?

Well. After installing Ubuntu on my laptop and playing around with it for awhile I thought it would be a good idea to post my experiences online. Partly for the fun of it, but I do hope this information will be useful and helpful (especially for fellow noobs, heh).

After creating this wordpress blog (okay, after signing up and activating–more like recreation than creation) I look at the list of fastest-growing wordpress.com blogs, and what do I see? Ubuntu – The Newbie’s Blog! Looks cool.

Anyway, it just goes to show that Ubuntu is a very noob-friendly distribution.

Augh. Sorry for the naked-blog look; I’ll try to make things look nicer soon. (Did I mention I am a noob at WP too?)

  • Hi, and welcome to wordpress.com!

I’m glad you like my Ubuntu blog, it’s nice to know it’s appreciated.

Please don’t let that stop you updating this blog with your findings, it’s always interesting to read about other people’s experiences. There are a couple of other Linux users blogging on here, linked from my blog.

Wahey! We’re getting a right little Linux Appreciation Society on here aren’t we! Perhaps we should create a community blog as well as our own that we can all post to!? :)

  • Wow. A community blog would be like a support/rave/rant blog heh..But it’s nice to see other users’ encounters with Linux, and how it has changed things in their computing experience.
