p.p.s. On why you should learn how to use the shell in linux: when your friend’s lecturer asks her to make a webpage to present her research results and upload it to the school server and some commands need to be entered into the shell client. Of course, the job could have been done with the graphical client, but it’s cooler this way, heh.
